About

Chantalle Sawision Sterne was born and raised in Ontario, and obtained her Bachelor Degree in Political Science and Legal Studies at Sir Wilfred Laurier University. It was here that she was amongst 18 students selected by the Dean to take part in a progressive research specialization in the area of law. She immediately went on to obtain her Juris Doctor from Bond University in Australia in 2012, where she studied International and Canadian legal systems.

Chantalle completed her articles at a prestigious family law firm in Toronto’s Financial District, working on cases involving celebrity clientele and others garnishing national news coverage. Through these experiences, she was able to take on a prominent position as family counsel for multinational family law firm with offices though out Canada and the USA, until starting her own practice in 2018.

History & Experience

Throughout her career, her work has been published in several magazines across Canada and internationally, including Divorce Digest and IN Magazine, and she has been interviewed by writers such as those for Elle Magazine, to discuss her unique strategies and successes in the realm of family law. You can also find her discussing divorce, cohabitation and the complex intermingling of financial issues and separation on Global News, AM 640 Radio.

Chantalle has dedicated her entire career to providing the absolute highest level of service possible to her clientele. She has appeared as counsel and advocated for the rights of her clients in both the Ontario and Superior Courts of Ontario, and has successfully assisted her clientele with the negotiated settlement of numerous issues through alternative dispute resolution settlings, including Mediation and Arbitration.

She also has extensive experience in dealing with complex separations involving parties living abroad and the complexities of the Hague Convention. Throughout her career, she has become an expert in dealing with complex property, trust issues and wealth management. A large majority of her files involve valuation disputes over corporate income and assets, including those held in trust by her clients or their spouses. In the event that yourself or your spouse are operating a corporation, are self-employed, have trust assets within Ontario or outside of the province/country, or may be dealing with a property or income dispute, you are in the right hands.

As a mother herself, she understands how overwhelming residency, access and parental decision making disputes over children can be on family. She has always sought to provide her clientele with alternative options to litigating, if the case facts allow, to save clients the time and stress of going through the rigorous court process. She will always provide you with realistic advice, resources, and a roadmap to success that is based on her goal of compassionate advocacy.

Outside the Office

Chantalle is often known by her clients for her positive approach to separation, and holistic outlook on the world. In her spare time, you can find her engaging in exercise, pilates and enjoying golfing with her family in Muskoka, Ontario.
