Family lawyer in Aurora.

Family law for Aurora women — separation, divorce, parenting and support, handled personally by the lawyer who takes your file. Our York Region practice is moving to Aurora.

A sculptural rock beneath a delicate cascade of water

Aurora is where our York Region practice is heading. Until the Aurora office is ready, Aurora clients are welcomed at our Main Street South office in Newmarket, and seen by video or telephone wherever that is safer or simpler for you.

What does not change is the standard: a small client list, a lawyer who follows your matter personally, and advice you can actually understand before you have to act on it.

What we tend to in Aurora.

01

Separation & Divorce

A clear path forward, suited to your family, without the language of the courthouse.

02

Parenting Arrangements

Schedules and decisions that hold up when life gets busy and feelings run high.

03

Spousal & Child Support

Support calculated properly, including income that is not a simple paycheque.

04

Complex Financial Planning

Business interests, investments and pensions, analysed before anything is agreed.

05

Property & the Family Home

Careful division of what you built, including gifts, inheritances and loans.

06

Cohabitation & Marriage Agreements

Protective agreements made in calm seasons, before anything is at stake.

07

Mediation & Collaborative Options

The quieter route where it serves you, with litigation held in reserve.

08

Family Litigation, When Needed

Prepared, poised advocacy in court when agreement is not possible.

A Focus of Our Practice

Coercive Control & IPV

Abuse that leaves no marks still has to be answered. So does control that looks like concern.

Coercive control is a pattern rather than a single incident: the money you could not reach, the friendships that quietly disappeared, the decisions you were no longer permitted to make. We build files around that pattern, because the law increasingly does too.

This is a niche of our practice. We consider safety, communication, financial access and parenting together, and we prepare your record calmly and privately so the shape of the years is visible on paper.

Since the Supreme Court of Canada's 2026 decision in Ahluwalia v. Ahluwalia, a survivor may be able to seek damages for a pattern of intimate partner violence. We will tell you plainly whether that claim belongs in your matter at all.

Asked in Aurora

Do I have to travel to Newmarket?

Not necessarily. Until our Aurora office opens, we meet Aurora clients at the Main Street South office, or by video and telephone — whichever is safer or simpler for you.

What happens in the first consultation?

Half an hour, $150. We ask what has happened and what you want next, then set out the options, the likely order of events and what each path costs. You leave knowing what you are deciding between.

Can you help if my spouse controls the money?

Yes. Financial control is one of the clearest signs of coercive control, and it is addressable: interim support, disclosure obligations and valuation can all be put in motion early rather than at the end.

Our litigation practice is focused on family matters. See the full family law practice, or explore mediation & collaborative options.
